About Vera-De Windows Inc.
Vera-De Windows was founded in 1998 by Detlef Recktenwald and his wife Vera, and
the new company name was chosen in honor of Vera Recktenwald. Detlef and his
family moved to the Comox Valley, British Columbia, from Germany in 1996, where
he brought with him more than 30 years experience as a Master Craftsman in
manufacturing the tilt turn windows and door systems. Over the years, the
Vera-De Team has grown and continues to do so. Valuable team players have been
added in production, sales and management. In 2003 his daughter, Nadja
Recktenwald decided to join the team and learn about the window and door
industry. From this time, she learned everything from "Scratch" as one would
say, and is now the General Business Manager and commercial project specialist.
In the Summer of 2006, Vera-De Windows had to move from its old facility, a
building of nerely 3,000 SqFt, to the new facility of 14,000 SqFt. Our customer
range is steadily increasing thanks to our growing sales force. We supply
windows and doors on Vancouver Island, throughout British Columbia, Alberta,
Alaska to Washington, Montana, Hawaii, South Carolina, California.
